Testimony

Aug 2011
To my children:
Many of you know me, have felt my presence. My words and goals are known. Many of you have not. I am old by earth time—85.  I have enjoyed a wonderful life with your grandmother, my forever partner, Pat. We face the similar challenges and events in our 62 years of marriage as you do, or will do in your lifetime. We learned that the choices we made brought happiness or sorrow.
There seems to be two factors in our life. Black or white—light like sunshine or dark as night.  We tried to make choices to make light. It seemed to bring joy—and clarity to living. In the dark it was hard to find things that were worthwhile.
Life is a problem and we need all the help and clarity to minimize the hurt. The gospel will be your guide. It is the best way to happiness. There is a God who loves you as a family member. Unfortunately, many people forget God and think contracts, or no agreements, no rules for living, is OK. It doesn’t work that way.
I have seen families living both ways. Living without God or covenants is dangerous and desperate in most cases.
I want you to know I have a firm belief in God and His plan as the gospel directs. It is light and truth and a way for happiness--temple worthiness. Eternal marriage is the best way, the hardest way, perhaps, but the rewards are best and last a long time. Bruce and Pat started this family with love and expectation. We believe in the plan.
We want our family forever together. Have faith, trust, believe, pray. You will know life is good. We will meet together in a grand reunion. We love you all—
                Pat and Bruce
